Combining a skills week with a holiday in the sun is an excellent way to improve your skills and put them into practice while still fresh in your memory.
The instructor was very professional and patient and was able to spot weakness very quickly in technique and highlight areas to improve on. I was attempting obstacles that I would have normally walked down or walked round. The fundamentals were all covered positioning etc and all levels of riding were improved.
The full suspension bikes provided by mountainbikecyprus were top quality and were maintained with unequalled care by highly trained mechanics and I didn’t really miss having my own bike. Similarly it was reassuring to have elbow and knee protection provided.
The hosts Al& Kirsty were very friendly and accommodating with lots of local knowledge and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second in recommending them and the company to anybody wanting a mountain bike holiday.
And remember to ask Kirsty to make one of her special ham and cheese rolls.

Quick mail before tackling the thousands in my in-box and the meetings and updates and in-tray to the roof! To reconfirm – I had an excellent week biking with you guys. I hoped to get to Cyprus and i) get good skills instruction, ii) see some discernable improvement in my level of competence, iii) get in some good riding on flowing single-track, iv) have all this with good company on the trail and v) also get some nice warm weather. Big tick for all the above.
Please pass on special thanks to Colin – he had clearly prepared well, has taken the course seriously and then did a really good job during the week.

Accommodation was good - one off hitch with the water quickly forgotten by us all I think.
Food recommendations were bloody useful thanks. The only night we didn't ask - the food was rotten - that'll teach us ;-) Liked the relaxed approach - staggered pick up/drop offs, payment, starts a bit later were fine too.
These and other things you had, that were differentiators like the banter, black trucks, looking after the bikes when you transported them, cleaning the bikes every day including our own were good.
Appreciate when it gets hectic it's not always possible to fit everything in but worth doing when you can I think.

Colin focussed on us as individuals when we needed it as well as the group - which I think most of us would agree was a big plus. Rear wheel lift again - got it in the end with Cols perseverance - thanks
